UK’s Sportech and Vegas’ NYX Gaming Team Up for NJ Internet Gambling Venture via Resorts Casino
International British sports and tote betting firm Sportech, together with Vegas-based NYX Gaming has announced plans of investing up to $2 million each to become the web-based online casino partners of Atlantic City, NJ’s Resorts Hotel Casino.
Late last year, the U.S. partnership agreement between Sportech PLC and NYX Gaming resulted to the formation of a company known as SNG Interactive. Through SNG, the two iGaming companies will furnish Resorts Hotel and Casino with an online gaming platform capable of delivering the best of Sportech’s and NYX Gaming’s products. The earliest target date by which the SNG online gaming platform would launch in New Jersey’s Internet gambling market is on January 2015.
SNG Interactive will be using NYX Gaming’s Open Platform System (OPS) to deliver a broad spectrum of highly popular casino games, including successful titles developed by NYX’s gaming content subsidiary NextGen Gaming and other games supplied by leading land based casino games providers.
Actually, the SNG Interactive joint venture is Sportech’s initial step in attaining its goal of adding an iGaming division to an already extensive foray into the U.S. retail, telephone and betting businesses. The NJ Internet gambling venture therefore has been in the offing for some time, although the Resort Hotel Casino partnership comes as a surprise.
The Amaya Gaming Group’s recent takeover of the Rational Group, which included having full ownership of the PokerStars website, gave rise to speculations that the previous PokerStars-Resorts Casino online gambling partnership will be revived. After all, it would have been the easiest route, which Amaya would have taken, in order to pursue Rational’s failed attempts to bring PokerStars to NJ’s Internet gambling arena.
