While many companies, corporations, and individuals are joining the trend of Going Green, there is still one day a year where everyone else can pitch in and do what they can to protect the environment we live in. This Friday, April 22nd is Earth Day, and the motto for this year is “A Billion Acts of Green”.
While this number may seem unattainable to some, keep in mind that this is a worldwide event, not a local one. If every person participates in this event, it will be incredibly easy to reach this goal. There are special event set up in cities and towns across the United States, as well as in many other parts of the world to make it easier, and more fun, to do everything possible to help the environment.
Some simple acts that you can do to help is plant a tree; even a sapling will help! Use as little electricity as possible; turn off your air conditioning or heat for the day, make sure you turn off any lights when you leave a room, and make sure you computer (laptops included) are completely turned off when you are done with them.
All of these can make you a part of this global endeavor, so be a part of something great this year! Better yet, encourage your friends and family members to try these tips throughout the year!
