Social Networking Website: Facebook Users Warned Against the “Official Facebook Dislike Button”

Facebook, world leading social network site with more than 500 million users around the world, warned its users regarding the scam that is plaguing the social network site over the last week.
Facts that there was a huge demand on behalf of the Facebook users to have a “Dislike” button along side the “Like” button, spammers taken advantage of this with a fake dislike app that is spreading across user profiles like a worm. The company warned its users against clicking on the link that claims to install the “Dislike” button on their Facebook profile.
The spam link that claims to instantly install the ‘Official Facebook Dislike Button” actually provides an add-on for the user’s browser. Technical experts said that though it is unsure whether the add-on is harmful to the users system or not, it is obviously not coming from social networking site nor approved by them.
Facebook spokesperson claimed that they already conducted an immediate action and planning to implement an effective ways to improve and protect their users against this kind of threat.
In the past, spammers utilize the same strategies to exploit other desirable functions missing from the social networking site. Spammers introduce fake apps that allow users to see who has visited their profile crop up repeatedly. However, Facebook stresses that this feature doesn’t exist and that it is not possible for a third party application to offer this functionality.
