The Korean handset maker Samsung officially announced that the Samsung tablet PC, the Android-based Galaxy Tab, will be launched in the UK market on 1st November but failed to provide proce information.
“The Samsung Galaxy Tab brings a very unique proposition to the tablet market and […] gives consumers the ultimate in connectivity and portability that they have been waiting for,” as stated by Simon Stanford, managing director for the mobile division of Samsung UK and Ireland.
The Galaxy Tab comes with a 7 inch WSVGA capacitive touch screen, runs on Android 2.2, , front (1.3 MP) and back (3.0 MP) facing camera,1 GHz or 1.2 GHz, Wi-Fi, and 3G. It’s also equipped with 512 MB RAM, 6GB storage which can be expanded for further memory, Bluetooth 3.0, and Flash 10.1.3.
The tablet can be enjoyed by anyone – commuters, students, parents, businesses – who want to experience a complete range of entertainment, whether that be watching movies, listening to music, reading newspapers, or simply making a phone call plus much more besides,” Stanford added.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab will also be in major mobile phone operators as well as in various “high street” stores like Carphone Warehouse, and Dixons.
