The top grossing Hollywood 3D film of all time Avatar returns exclusively in 3D cinemas and IMAX around the world on Friday. Director James Cameron is bringing it’s masterpiece that wow the world, but this time the veteran director will treat his audience with an extra 9 minutes of never before seen footage.
“I’m trying to use the technology to keep people interested and enthused about the `Avatar’ universe, because it’s going to be a long time before we get another `Avatar’ movie done,” Cameron said in an interview.
And this offers them a second chance to wonder at the spectacle of Pandora, the alien world where the movie is set.
The winning epic in the recently held Oscar and Golden Globes, Avatar has become the most financially successful movie to-date that gained more than $2.7 billion in worldwide box office. The exclusive re-release will allow the audience to wonder again at the spectacle of Pandora, the alien world where the movie is set.
The added scene is one which Cameron calls ‘the drums of war,’ according to the New York Post. The scene will elaborate the human decision to wipe out the Na’vi which the director compares it to America’s decision to invade Iraq.
“We had to provoke Saddam to do something stupid and it’s like that with the human’s invading Pandora,” said Cameron.
