Pete Souza, official White House photographer, caught President Barack Obama and his family having a good time swimming in the Gulf waters at Alligator Point of Florida. White house said that the official photo is part of the Obama administration effort to show that Gulf Coast beaches and waters are in good shape despite the oil spill tragedy.

“As a result of the cleanup effort, beaches all along the Gulf Coast are clean, they are safe, and they are open for business,” Obama told reporters Saturday before he, wife Michelle and daughter Sasha headed out for the coast.

According to the White House, the President and the first family are on a trip to Panama City and the primary purpose of the trip is to rejuvenate and restore the public confidence for the Gulf beaches and resorts. The Obama’s spend their Saturday by playing mini golf and having a boat trip in St Andrews Bay in search of dolphins.

President Obama mentioned that the coastal states had lost around $23 billion as the industry was hit by the huge oil spill of Gulf of Mexico.
