After the success of the “PokerStars Canada Cup” competition, the world’s leading and largest poker site has announced that another series of live tournaments, this time captioned as “PokerStars Montreal Festival” will once again be held at Montreal’s Playground Poker Club from August 22 to September 3, 2014.
A total of 16 live events comprising competitions for No Limit Texas Hold’em (NLHE), Pot Limit Omaha (POL) and a NLHE POL Mix, will lead to the CA$$1,100 Buy-in NLHE Main Event from August 29 to September 03, 2014, for which CA$1 Million in Guaranteed Prize Pool will be at stake.
Day 1 kicks-off on August 22 to 23 with CA$135 + CA$15 Buy-in Re-Entry Tournaments that offer a guaranteed pool prize of CA$100,000 plus five guaranteed seats to the Main Event. However, those wishing to re-enter can only do so by joining any of the scheduled re-entry tournaments subsequent to the Day 1 Re-Entry competition previously played. Those looking to join the CA$1,100 Buy-in Main Event can join for less via the PokerStars online satellites for the Montreal Festival, and via the live satellites to be held at Montreal’s Playground Poker Club.
The Live Main Event will have a maximum of 500 players with late registrations available to six levels. Players in the Main Event will start with a stack of 30,000 chips, while the blinds will increase every 45 minutes from Level 1; starting from Level 25, blinds will increase every 60 minutes. Once the Montreal Poker Festival Main Event reaches that stage in which only two players will be playing heads-up, blinds will increase every 30 minutes.
