Opera’s updated web browser, the Opera Mini 5.1, is scheduled to land on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile platform, roughly four months after it landed on Google Android OS. The Opera Mini 5.1, also available on Java and BlackBerry, will run on Windows Mobile 2003 SE, 5.x and 6.x based smartphones.
The revamped version of the web browser is packed with some impressive features that will allow Windows Mobile users to load web pages much faster. Opera Mini is proven in providing quality and fast web browsing and it is one of the most widely used mobile web browsers. The Opera Mini Allows users to load compressed versions of web pages, minimizing mobile web charges and maximizing monthly allowances. The latest version also featured page auto-rotation, high resolution displays, and an improved page layout.
“A lot of Windows Mobile phones do basic things very well, but web browsing not so much. We are hoping to breathe new life into phones by improving and enhancing their internet capabilities,” said Philip Grønvold, Opera Mini product manager.
