Online Dating Leading the Way in Lifestyle Acceptance

There currently is a push from the online dating community to rally acceptance for lifestyle choices that are considered alternative to that of heterosexual monogamy. While the main online dating sites cater more to the “traditional” heterosexual couple, many sites are adding options for other lifestyle choices.
The media’s acceptance of homosexual and lesbian relationships have had an impact on how online dating sees their demographics. Many sites, even reluctantly are still adding the option to openly look for man for man or woman for woman relationship types. This is becoming a huge trend and is in some cases dividing the online dating community into religious views.
Another large trend in emerging online dating sites is the option for those interested in the polygamist lifestyle. This is where one can seeks multiple wives or multiple husbands. As with homosexuality, the polygamist lifestyle has been around for centuries, but was made illegal and deemed unsavory for the minds of the public. As the homosexual lifestyle has become more accepted, many polygamists are now stepping into the light of day to proclaim their lifestyle choice despite any legal problems that they may incur. Online dating is making it possible to live the way in which you want to live and even more so now that many are including lifestyle choices that were once deemed “unacceptable”.
