Slot Developer NextGen Gaming Seals License Deal for 2000 AD’s Judge Dredd
Australian slot game maker NextGen Gaming recently announced that its forthcoming slot release for the summer of 2014 will include Judge Dredd, and will initially go live exclusively at online betting sites powered by NYX Interactive’s Open Gaming System (OGS™). The Sydney-based slots studio succeeded in sealing a license deal that grants permission to create slot entertainment based on 2000 AD’s iconic but fictional hero.
2000 AD is a UK publication of science-fiction comic anthology first published by IPC Magazines in 1977. In year 2000, copyright to the comic book including the Judge Dredd title became the intellectual property of Rebellion Developments, a British computer games firm and the creator of highly successful video games like “Alien vs. Predator and “Sniper Elite”. Rebellion continues to publish the 2000 AD comics online and in trade paperback format featuring almost all of the Judge Dredd appearances in the comic series.
