Lesniak Addresses Gambling Legalization at Recent Conference

During the US Gaming Congress annual meeting in Atlantic City, several speakers took the stage. The State Senator of the state of New Jersey, Ray Lesniak was one of them. He talked about the hot topic of the legalization of internet gambling. He stated that the bill he has proposed has been vetoed previously, in 2011, by the governor of the state, despite the fact that this bill passed with flying colors through the New Jersey Legislature. He also added that the veto and refusal for the bill has caused the state of New Jersey to lose millions of dollars in revenue. This year, the State Senator is moving yet another bill, but this time, there is an understanding between him and the governor regarding the terms of the bill.

Another speaker was the spokesman of Spectrum Gaming, Eugene Johnson. He stated that all the people involved in the online gambling community in the U.S are waiting to enter the legalized market. He stated that his company has been approached by several operators, European, American and Native American. He backed up the thoughts and the opinions of Richard Bronson when he said that in a matter of years, a state legalized and regulated internet gambling market will be a fact. He said that one of the European companies that approached him was Paddy Power, the very famous Irish operator. As the Irish company has setup office in the U.S and has been trying to approach several partners in the U.S market.
