Kentucky Derby and How to Ruin a Diet Plan

weight lossThe Kentucky Derby has finally arrived.  For some people this means finally displaying the perfect outfit complete with hat, hoping to win money on the big race, and for many others, it’s all about the food.  These are foods that can be eaten any time, but always seem to taste better at Derby time.  Many people diet all year long, but still splurge on Hot Browns, an ooey gooey calorie filled open face sandwich.  The combination of bacon, turkey, and cheese sauce pairs perfectly with mint juleps and Pappy Van Winkles.  Finish off the day with the perfect Kentucky dessert; Derby pie.  This dessert is synonymous with the big race, and while many people have created their own version, the original recipe is a highly guarded secret.
