A year has passed since we lost the king of pop, a truly and magically endeared artiste Michael Jackson. But ever since his sad and unexpected demise his admirers, closed ones and renowned artistes, have been involved in launching musical concerts across the globe to spread his music and to pay a respectable homage to this cult figure.
On Friday, the first anniversary of the King of Pop’s death, Dj Quick is all set to perform on MJ’s tunes in club Taj Manhattan, which is supposedly going to be a global affair and is expected to be attended by millions of his ardent fans. The Taj party will be a part of the global celebration of Jackson’s brilliant but troubled life.
While festive celebrations like parties are expected on Friday, there will also be somber remembrances. In Gary, Ind., Jackson’s hometown, there will be a tribute at the Jackson home, mother Katherine and his niece Genevieve are expected to turn up for this emotionally charged event along with his millions of fans.
Sharpton, a close friend and associate of Jackson and his family, who always believed him to be a social force and sense of inspiration, said he thought a moment of silence was appropriate to pay a tribute to his divine soul.
These ongoing celebrations and festivities may give rise to a lot of security issues as well. Thus a well planned and scrutinized security system has been deployed to prevent any mishap at the Jackson family residence in Encino, and fans expecting to visit Glendale’s Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, where the music icon is entombed, will have limited access and face strict rules.
However fans can leave tributes such as flowers, as a token of their respect and admiration for this cult performer and a wonderful human being.
