Google’s YouTube Partnered With Norwegian Cruise Line To Launch Travel Information Channel YouTube Vacationer

Google’s YouTube, the world’s largest online video site, and Norwegian Cruise Line launched a travel specific channel YouTube Vacationer in cooperation with Concierge.com, eHow, Lonely Planet, Dan Traveling, Next New Networks, Howcast, Travel Channel TV, and National Geographic.

The YouTube Vacationer, www.youtube.com/vacationer, primary feature is “Vacation You” allows visitors to the site to create their own 60 – 90 second ideal vacation video using a number of clips from different sports or vacation activities.

Maria Miller, NCL’s senior vice president of marketing, stated that “by working with YouTube on their first-ever travel-specific channel, we are giving visitors the opportunity to experience our brand and all the options that Freestyle Cruising offers.”

Fortunately, the new video channel isn’t just restricted for those that love cruises – it utilizes content from big name partners such as Lonely Planet, National Geographic and the Travel Channel to provide extra advice and inspiration. Viewers will get various info and tips, such as fist aid, activities, places to see, and things to do while on vacation.

“The YouTube Vacationer channel brings the best of our partners’ travel videos into a single destination to help users explore, plan and dream about their next vacations, and it gives users a way to see themselves in a customized vacation video with Norwegian’s ‘Vacation You’ application,” said YouTube’s Mark Day.
