Woodbine Entertainment Group, the Canadian Toronto based racetrack and casino operator has stated that the Chairman of the company, David Willmot has retired from his position in the company. James Lawson, an experienced professional in the world of online gambling is going to replace the departed Chairman.
Woodbine Entertainment Group is the company behind the internet account betting platform, HorsePlayer Interactive. James Lawson was appointed in the company as the vice chairman last April and he severed side by side by Clay Horner.
Before that he used to work as a director at the company, starting from 2008 in June. Being the Chairman is not the only task that is appointed to James Lawson as the company stated that he is a part of its Pension and Compensation Committee, Thoroughbred Racing Committee and Standardbred Racing Committee among other committees as well.
James Lawson is also the Chairman of the Canadian Jockey Club. This is not all as he also owns and runs the Jim Dandy Stable.
The chief exec and the president of Woodbine Entertainment, Nick Eaves stated that on the behalf of the entire work force of 2,300 employees at the company, he would like to thank the deprarted Chairman, David Willmot.
He thanked him for all of his efforts towards the company during his stay as the Chairman of the company. He had a vision and this vision helped the company to cement its position in the gaming and horse racing world in Ontario.
