Target, one of the largest discounts retails stores/carriers in US, made a huge announcement at their media conference in Minneapolis that all six model of the much hyped Apple’s iPad tablet PC will be available starting on October 3rd.
Target now joins Best Buy and Apple’s own store in distributing the iPad. Both the WiFi-only and iPad 3G models in all the various storage capacity options will be available in Target. The low end iPad will be retail for $499 and the 65GB high-end model with 3G connectivity for $829.
Consumers with Target credit card will greatly benefit in these announcement, because they can receive a five percent discount from the iPad’s price. But they need to pay their credit card bill in full and on time or the interest will quickly eat their discount.
As of now, Target is the largest retail chain who sells and distribute the Apple iPad, but as Apple looks to expand the iPad retail availability, Target may soon witness a strong competition as other retailers begin offering the iPad in stores, too. A number of Best Buy stores are already offering the iPad, and there are also plans that the store will distribute the device in all Best Buy stores throughout the United States. There are also rumors that Wal-Mart may be among upcoming retailers to begin selling the tablet PC. In addition, iPad is now available in Republic of China.
