Apple iOS 4.1 For iPhone And iPod Touch Released Today, No iPhone Jailbreak Available

Apple has released the new iOS 4.1 software update for the iPhone and iPod Touch that CEO Steve Jobs promised would be released this week. Users can now download the new software in iTunes.

The new iOS will allow users to experience Game Center, 99-cent iTunes TV show rentals, iTunes Ping, and HD Video uploads to YouTube or MobileMe via Wi-fi. It also brings High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo capture to the iPhone. The new software is also required if users wanted to make FaceTime video calls between a Touch and an iPhone 4. The software is also packed with some bug fixes, like the proximity sensor are also in this release.

Newsoftoday.com reported that the new iOS will not be compatible with the iPhone Jailbreak, which was released last month. The iPhone DEV team may opt to wait until iOS 4.2 is released before unveiling a new jailbreak for the device.

There are a lot of technical experts who compares the iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1 and so far the performance has been found quite better.

To install the new software, connect your Apple device to your computer via USB, click on your device under the Devices list in iTunes and click “Check for Update.” But be sur to back it up first.
