Apple’s iPad Will Dominate Tablet Market

Tech fans from all over the world were fascinated to Apple’s best device the iPad. Apple released the iPad in April 2010 and successfully sold more than 3 million units within just 80 days. According to a market research firm iSuppli, nothing will be able to challenge Apple’s Ipad until next year, and when someone launched a new tablet to rival iPad, they will have a hard time matching iPad’s customized applications.

The iPad will dominate the tablet gadget world and will hold at least 70% of the market in 2011 and 62% by 2012.

Apple rivals such as Hewlett Packard Co, Dell Inc, and Lenovo Group are implementing Android and Windows 7-based tablet devices to compete against the 9.7-inch iPad, but due to the iPad’s mix of hardware, software, operating system, and applications Apple’s rivals will struggle to match the iPad, the research firm said.

“It’s still unlikely that any of the competitors will be able to equal the overall performance experience of the iPad,” said Rhoda Alexander, the firm’s director of monitor research.

However, iSuppli dismiss he rumors that that Google will release a Chrome OS tablet on this year’s Black Friday, Nov 26. Any touch-enabled Chrome-based device would be more likely to appear in 2011 or beyond, the market research firm said. Additionally, the firm cited that Canada’s Research in Motion is trying to enter the tablet market with its recent purchase of the domain name “BlackPad.”

“Although the iPad has been on the market for only a few months, powerful interests throughout the technology business are devoting enormous resources to challenge and topple Apple’s domination in this fast-growing marketplace,” Alexander said.
